This expansive coastal region encompasses an estimated shelf area of 32,500 km2, with depths ranging from 0 to 200 meters, extending from the western passage of the Gulf of Aden to the Indian Ocean, bordering Kenya. As a result, the country enjoys a significantly extensive Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), covering around 825,052 square kilometers.
